Vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli combines a hard-swinging style rooted in jazz tradition with totally modern lyric interpretations- breathing new life into every song with a contagious joy and thrilling spontaneity. For her Tuesday night residency at Birdland, Gabrielle will mine the jazz and American Songbook for familiar classics and under-appreciated songs by great composers like Porter, Arlen, the Gershwins, Matt Dennis, Dorothy Fields and many more. Gabrielle will be joined by frequent collaborators Michael Kanan on piano and Pat O’Leary on bass.
