Ron Carter is among the most original, prolific and influential bassists in jazz with more than 2,000 albums to his credit. Beginning his career in the 1960s with Jaki Byard and Eric Dolphy, Cannonball Adderley, and a five year stint with the Miles Davis’ Quintet, Ron also performed and recorded with notables including Bill Evans, B.B. King, and Dexter Gordon. GRAMMY® award winning pianist Bill Charlap has performed with many of the leading artists in jazz including Tony Bennett, and Wynton Marsalis. The New York City native is the son of Broadway composer Moose Charlap, and Benny Goodman Orchestra vocalist Sandy Stewart. In 1997, Charlap formed a trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington, and was quickly as one of the foremost interpreters of American popular song: “…no matter how imaginative or surprising his take on a song is, he invariably zeroes in on its essence.” (Time Magazine).
