Tatiana Eva-Marie: Django’s Caravan
May 30 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Tatiana Eva-Marie is a Brooklyn-based bandleader, singer, author, and actress. Best known for her work with the Avalon Jazz Band, she was recently included in a list of rising jazz stars by magazine Vanity Fair.
Though her interests have led her to explore a wide range of musical styles, from 1930s pop to modern jazz, Tatiana Eva-Marie’s singing is always inspired by her own French and Gypsy heritage; a love for the Parisian art scene of the 1920s through the 60s; a fascination for New Orleans Jazz; and a deep connection to the Great American Songbook.
Named “one of the best young singers around” by the Wall Street Journal and acclaimed by the New York Times, Downbeat and other renowned publications, she performs regularly in New York City, at festivals, and on tour around the world.
Tatiana’s European roots have meant a special connection with the brilliant music of Django Reinhardt. And she brings her own extraordinary vocal talents to bear including original French lyrics she has written for some his best-loved songs.
