Ye Huang is a leading figure in Chinese jazz and an innovator known for blending traditional eastern elements with modern music. He serves as the Music Director at Lincoln Center Shanghai and is an Artistic Ambassador for the World Education Forum.
Huang was the first Chinese musician to perform with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in NYC, and he's featured at high-profile events at the UN and multiple events. From 2016 to 2024, Ye toured globally with legends like Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Daniels, and the trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, the Eddie Daniels Band, Steve Smith band, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. He also showcased his versatility as a saxophonist for the quartet of drummer Dave Weckl & guitarist Mike Stern.
A prolific and dedicated composer, Ye Huang's works include the albums Starlight and Jazz Clarinet Minuet, the concerto Vanward is New Classical, the musical Jazzing, and he also ventured into the experimental AI-composed realm with Quantum Groove debuted in 2024.
Huang performed in 108 concerts from 2023 into 2024. He has been recognized in Forbes, WBGO, and DownBeat, delivered a Tedx talk, and now leads the Jazzical 9 Ensemble, dedicated to a fusion of classical and jazz influences.
